Intelligent Reliability Design Methods and Applications

Reliability is an important index for measuring the quality of products. Effective reliability design provides several benefits, such as improved reliability, extended lifecycle, reduced lifecycle cost and reduced development time for operation of complicated systems. With the growing requirements of higher reliability and longer lifecycle, advance reliability design methods, especially intelligent reliability design methods are urgent for engineering practices.

Reliability design is an optimization process for maintaining higher operating reliability under the satisfaction of minimal lifecycle cost. Reliability design provides an informed and cost-effective basis to assist engineers in the decision-making and a means to resist the operating risk. As such, research on intelligent reliability design has attracted considerable attention and it will be the main focus of the special session.

Original papers on theoretical development and applications are encouraged to submit to the special session. Topics should include, but not be limited to, the following:

· Prognostic health management
· Lifecycle cost analysis
· Product lifecycle management
· Multi-objective design
